Taguig’s 2nd most wanted falls

The second most wanted person in Taguig City fell in the hands of the law on Tuesday.

This developed as 24-year-old Jay-ar Iquiran, alias “Jepoy Jocson” was nabbed by the Regional Special Operation Unit of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) in San Lorenzo South Subdivision in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

NCRPO chief, Director Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar, said Iquiran’s arrest was based on the warrant issued by Taguig City Regional Trial Court Judge Paz Cortes on 27 April against the suspect for the crime of murder.

The arresting officers said Iquiran was surprised when police suddenly arrived and arrested him in his Sta. Rosa residence.

Iquiran went into hiding after he allegedly took part in the killing of a certain Marvie Rapala on 31 May in Purok 4 of Barangay Tuktukan, Taguig City.

He was charged as an accomplice in the killing of Repala for allegedly persuading the principal suspect, identified as Cedric Jocson alias “Colon,” to shoot the victim.

Law enforcers tagged Iquiran as the “2nd most wanted person” in Taguig City for the third quarter of last year when he went into hiding.

A tip from a confidential informant led to Iquiran’s arrest. He was positively identified by Repala’s relatives as one of the victim’s killers. He is currently jailed at the NCRPO detention facility pending the issuance of the court’s commitment order.

Meanwhile, the Southern Police District reported the arrest of 41 drug suspects in separate operations Tuesday.

Chief Supt. Tomas Apolinario Jr., SPD director, said Pasay City police under the command of Senior Supt. Noel Flores arrested 14 drug personalities.
