Trollano stays with team

JAKARTA — Don Trollano is not going home without his teammates.

After getting cut in favor of National Basketball Association player in Jordan Clarkson, Trollano at first wanted to fly home to help his Talk ‘N Text team in the Philippine Basketball Association Governor’s Cup.

“They want Don here because of the camaraderie and the friendship they forged on and off the court,” coach Yeng Guiao told Daily Tribune whose Asiad coverage is supported by Primehomes.

“Even outside, they eat together. They walk in the Athletes’ Village together and spend a lot of time together. That translates into a good team,” he added.

“If somebody who already made sacrifice will be out, the morale of the entire team will be affected. That’s why the management made him stay,” Guiao added.

In a previous statement, Trollano said he already received word from KaTropa head coach Nash Racela asking for his quick return.

The former Adamson University guard, however, said: “They (Gilas teammates) told me to stay here.”

“They don’t want me to go home. It doesn’t look good. We went here as a team, so we should also go home as a team.”
