Noy not off the hook yet

NOYNOY AQUINO. Former President Benigno Aquino and former Health Secretary Janette Garin have not been cleared of accountability in the P3.5-billion Dengvaxia vaccine anomaly, House committee on health chair Angelina Tan said yesterday.

The report that the committee on good government and public accountability, chaired by Surigao del Sur Rep. Johnny Pimentel and the committee on health, which I chair, have respectively come up with their report that cleared the former Chief Executive on the dengue vaccination program,” Tan said.

She said her committee was not on the same page with the good government and public accountability panel in acquitting Aquino and the others involved.

She added her committee did not concur with the other panel’s findings and recommendations and that it will submit its own draft report that touches mostly on the issue of health and efficacy of the vaccine.

Tan said her panel had taken over their investigation after the previous House leadership abruptly directed to terminate their investigation and let the other panel to look into the case, in which they have cleared Aquino in their draft committee report.
