Anne Curtis for the last time

Curtis admits that more than her admittedly limited singing ability, her concerts have always been visual feasts. Audiences appreciate the authenticity of Kapamilya actress Anne Curtis during her concerts. This inspired Curtis to stage her third and most probably her last concert, “Anne Kulit: Promise Last Na ‘To!.”

Directed by Paul Basinillo, with musical director Louie Ocampo and dance director Teacher Georcelle, the big affair will happen tomorrow at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City, in celebration of Curtis’s 21 eventful years in the entertainment industry.

“I’m not pretending that I can sing well. I’m just very true, that I’m there to have fun.

That’s why people understand and enjoy; they are part of my crazy journey. I’m thankful they support my craziness,” she said.

Curtis made her concert debut with “ANNEbisyosa: No Other Concert” on 28 January 2011 also at the Araneta Coliseum. It was followed by “ANNEkapal: The Forbidden Concert” on 16 May 2014.

Now, she is more than ready for “Anne Kulit” with a powerhouse lineup of guests including Sarah Geronimo, James Reid, Aegis, Ex Batallion and Asia’s Songbird, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid.

Anne will hold her third concert tomorrow night to mark her 21 years in showbiz. “I know for a fact that this concert will be visually pleasing to the eye. My costumes for this maybe are more expensive than my whole concert. I have designers that made outfits for Ariana Grande and Cardi B. You can say that it has always been a fashion show. Both my stylists, Pam Quiñones and Liz Uy, went to a new level. They were able to reach out to The Blonds and a Korean designer,” Curtis shared.

Curtis is known for her first film, Magic Kingdom, a story about three disciples who must save a princess from her evil uncle. Then she became part of TGIS, a television drama series produced by GMA 7. Making a big leap, she decided to transfer to ABS-CBN, where she was given title roles in Hiram, Kampanerang Kuba and Dyosa and made a host for the hit noontime program, It’s Showtime.

Acting awards keep on coming, too. Curtis received her first Best Actress award for Baler in 2008. In 2011, alongside Cristine Reyes and Derek Ramsay, she received the FAMAS Best Actress award for her role in No Other Woman.

“It’s hard to choose because I feel like every time I’ve done something where I put my heart into, it has become a highlight in those 21 years. Even doing my first marathon, having heartbreaks in front of the whole nation, it’s part of the 21 years. I’m very thankful, throughout this crazy journey, all my followers have been there for me. I’m just so grateful that I’m still here,” she expressed.

After doing the hit movies Sid & Aya (Not a Love Story) and BuyBust, which internationally premiered in New York, Canada and South Korea, and her concert tomorrow, Curtis plans to slow it down for a while so that she can spend time with her husband, Erwan Heussaff.

“Actually, this year, my schedule has been very crazy. Erwan was saying, ‘When will I get to have dinner with you, just the two of us.’ But I said, soon. After this concert, I think my schedule would lessen. I will be more on It’s Showtime and then of course we’re going on our honeymoon in November in South Africa. We’re very excited because it will be a long leave; it’s one year before we decided to have a honeymoon. Erwan agreed with that so I will give this to him.”

Curtis revealed that she wanted to focus more on acting and hosting after “ANNE Kulit.”

“I’m giving up singing. Feeling ko, okey na ‘yun,” Curtis concluded.
