Up to judges to suspend work–Carpio

Acting Chief Justice Antonio Carpio on Monday gave the Marikina executive judge and judges in other courts affected by floods and rains the discretion to suspend work.

The Supreme Court Public Information Office released the advisory.

Marikina City is among the areas that have been inundated amid torrential rains over the weekend and the inclement weather is forecast to last until Wednesday based on the forecast of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Administration.

The Marikina River swelled on Saturday prompting the evacuation of thousands of residents from nearby homes. The river’s water level went up to 20.6 meters Saturday night before starting to subside on Sunday.
