Road rage redux?

They may strike fear among many motorists in the road. But not in a KTV bar.

One traffic constable of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) sustained injuries when a group of about four men ganged up on him and his fellow enforcers.

According to Mervinson Diaz, he and two other MMDA traffic constables were drinking in a KTV bar in East Avenue, Quezon City on Friday night when they were suddenly attacked.

He said one of the guys hit him with a bottle on his back while another one punched him in his face.

Rafael Matira, one of Diaz’ companions, said that before the attack he heard a member of a drinking group saying: “They are the ones who flagged us for traffic violation.”

However, the supposed assailants told the police a different story. One of them, who was also wounded, said the group of the traffic enforcers initiated the fight.

Moral of the story: We have enough of road rage. Don’t bring it somewhere else.
