Men set on fire to stop fighting

MACONACON, Isabela —Two men were hospitalized here after they were set on fire to stop them from fighting.

Fernando Sesuca and Acorda Cortez, both from Dumagat, were recuperating from burns on Saturday.

Based on investigation, the two were having a drinking session in Barangay Malasin when they started to argue. The argument escalated into a fistfight.

Residents tried to pacify the two but they refused to be stopped.

One of the residents then grabbed a bottle filled with kerosene, splashed the content at the two and lit them.

The two suffered first-degree burns. The senior citizen who set them on fire surrendered to the police. He is now facing charges of attempted homicide.
