Tanauan rules World Series

The Philippines claimed its first-ever Senior League Softball World Series crown after following a 7-0 win over Southwest in the championship game Sunday in Lower Sussex, Delaware.

Royevel Palma struck out 15 and gave up only two hits in a complete game while Marika Joana Manaig blasted three RBI in the finals to give the Tanauan City-based softbelles the crown in this prestigious tournament for 13 to 16 years old players.

They wrapped up their participation with a 6-1 win-loss record to become the first Philippine team in the 44-year history of the tournament to capture a Senior League Softball World Series title.
