Mocha not part of Fed info bid

Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson can help in the education and information campaign on Federalism but she is not part of the interagency task force under Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea to promote and explain it to the public, Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar said yesterday.

“She can help but not as spokesperson,” Andanar said amid public uproar over a vulgar dance video uploaded on social media to promote Federalism.

“My job here is to put my foot down and say this is not what PCOO and the entire inter-agency body talked about. What we talked about last 31 July was communications strategy, the content, the final message the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) will undertake that PCOO will package so we can bring it to the provinces and regions,” Andanar clarified.

Andanar added it was the initiative of Consultative Committee spokesman Ding Generoso to get Uson for the information campaign.

Medialdea wanted to get the assistance of experts on law and Federalism for the information campaign, he said.

Presidential spokesman Harry Roque said the Federalism information campaign has yet to start as it will kick off this month.

“The roadshow for Federalism will commence this month of August, in which materials from DILG in coordination with academics and members of the Consultative Committee will be included. Don’t worry, the roadshow at dissemination activities will soon start,” Roque said.
