Jolo fire victims get relief

The NFA sustains its memorandum of agreements with relief agencies for immediate issuance of rice during emergencies and calamities.

The National Food Authority (NFA) will be distributing 1,087 sacks of rice to the victims of a huge fire last 25 July in Jolo, which left 30,000 residents homeless.

Employees of NFA Tawi-Tawi donated clothes and grocery items for the victims.

The Office of the Vice President has also requested 150 bags of rice from NFA Zamboanga, while the City Government of Valenzuela bought 937 bags.

Distribution of these relief goods is scheduled today.

As of 3 August, a total of 9,666 bags of rice were already issued by the NFA to various relief agencies and local government units for typhoons Gardo, Henry, Inday and Josie.
