P1.5-M shabu seized

A police operation led to the arrest of four alleged drug pushers yesterday and the seizure of several sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu worth P1.5 million.

Chief Supt. Gregorio Lim, director of the Northern Police District (NPD), identified the suspects as Aldrin Campos, 31 years old; Jay-R Sonet, 30; Jilian Alegado, 28 and Merelyn Golfere, 24. The four suspects are residents of Brgy. North Bay Boulevard and jobless.

Lim said the four were arrested in buy-bust operations conducted around 4:00 a.m. yesterday at Market 3 in Brgy. North Bay Boulevard by the Navotas City police Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) and Special Operations Unit (SOU) led by Insp. Cecilio Danilo Songalia.

Lim said the operation led to the arrest of the four suspects and the confiscation of ten sachets of shabu with a total weight of 250 grams.

Also seized during the operation was the marked money used by the poseur-buyer.

According to the Navotas police, the arrest of the four suspects and the seizure of the illegal drugs is their biggest accomplishment for the month in terms of anti-drug drive.

The suspects are facing criminal charges in violation of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 before the Navotas City Prosecutors’ Office.
