“This year, the celebration grew as 20 countries joined in on the fun.

Acer, the global leader in computer hardware technologies, kicked off its annual Acer Day celebrations with performances from today’s top trending artists in the field of music and entertainment.

With the theme “Play Music Together,” the launch-turned-concert recently held at the Glorietta Palm Drive Activity Center in Makati City featured singer-songwriter Moira dela Torre who is famous for her hit songs “Titibo-Tibo,” “Malaya” and “Tagu-Taguan,” and IV of Spades, a young rock band that’s known for their fresh and funky sounds.

“Music has been around for decades, and yet it manages to stay youthful, trendy and innovative,” shared Sue Ong-Lim, director of Sales and Marketing for Acer Philippines.

“In a way, this mirrors how Acer regards technology in that it should always be fresh, modern and inventive in terms of its design and capabilities.” Ong-Lim added.

A lineup of activities were also announced during the event, including a music video fest that invites amateur and professional groups to a dance challenge led by renowned dance troupe, G-Force.

Entries should be uploaded to public on Facebook with the hashtags #AcerDay and #DanceDiscount on the video description.

Participants should also tag the official Facebook page of Acer Philippines, G-Force, along with 30 other friends in the post.

The top three selected finalists with the most creative, fun and energetic acts will win P100,000 each and compete for the grand prize of P500,000.

Acer also encourages individuals to take part in a series of games and challenges found in the Acer Day website at https://acer-day.com/ph for a chance to score giveaways such as free Acer laptops, and a trip to Taiwan for two.

In line with the celebration, Acer partnered with FM radio station Wish 107.5 to host a digital concert by the end of August.

Introduced last year, Acer Day began in 14 Asia Pacific countries. This year, the celebration grew as 20 countries joined in on the fun, including Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

“Acer, which has been in the industry for 42 years now, wants to showcase its fun and innovative side through Acer Day, and give back to consumers.” Ong-Lim explained.

Ultimately, Acer Day was conceptualized to reinvigorate the brand and bring its products closer to the public. Acer is known for its line of laptop models including Nitro and Predator Helios for mid-range and hardcore gamer alike, as well as the Swift and Spin series for different types of users.
