When news broke that actress-host Kris Aquino had collaborated with a makeup brand, it came as no surprise that she would focus on lip and eyebrow beauty products.

The Queen of All Media follows the mantra “Kilay is life,” revealing she doesn’t go out of the house without doing her brows. She even fills in her brows before she sleeps — which her sons Josh and Bimby find weird — “just in case a fire broke.”

She is also known for her lip colors. When she loves a certain shade, she would hoard it. She also loves to mix and match lip shades.

The collaboration with local makeup brand Ever Bilena gave birth to “Kris Life Kit,” a collection of everyday makeup essentials that enhances natural beauty regardless of age, color and background. The collection includes matte and liquid lipsticks and brow products.

Discover the pure and creamy matte goodness of Kris Matte Matic Lipstick. In crayon form, it comes in two shades so far — namely, Love and Life. Love is on the reddish shade (it was revealed that the color was actually inspired by a discontinued lip color that Kris liked), while Life is a mauve.

The Kris matte lipstick is twice as matte as regular matte lipsticks available in the market. But Kris insists that her matte lipstick won’t make the lips dry.

“Let’s face it. If you have matte lipstick, hindi ka (you are not) kissable,” she said, adding that these lip products have a comfortable matte finish, with a moisturizing balmy texture.

If you prefer a wand-type applicator, Kris Matte Liquid Lipstick might be for you. It comes in five shades (Life, Love, Laugh, Lucky and Loyal), the liquid lipstick has a vibrant saturation of pure color that rests comfortably on the lips.

“I really insisted, ‘May I be the one to name them?’ I feel that I write well and I know how to put things into words so nag-insist ako. Sabi ko akin na ‘yung word na love, and I think since ako naman yata ‘yung nagpauso ng ‘kilay is life,’ so hiningi ko na din ’yung ‘life’ (I insisted. I said since the word ‘Love’ is mine and I popularized the blurb ‘Eyebrows are life,’ I also asked for the word life,” said the TV host-actress, who shared that she even thought about using the word “Libog (Lust),” although it was turned down.

The dual-ended Kris Matte Brow Liner and Brow Mascara remains true to her beauty mantra, with an easy-to-use retractable liner with teardrop pencil shape for a smooth kilay defining moment, and a brow mascara with a small spoolie that follows the natural shape of the brow.

Kris has been very hands-on with the Life Kit production, from swatching colors, recommending scent and approving the packaging. “The Ever Bilena Kris Life Kit is a true passion project,” as how Kris puts it, thanking Deoceldo Sy, owner of Ever Bilena Cosmetics, for believing in her vision.

“This is our first-time collaboration with a celebrity,” shared Ever Bilena key accounts manager Denice Sy-Munez. Early this year, the makeup company named the actress-host as their brand ambassador because of her strong all-media presence.

After sending her their best-selling products and meeting with her, Denice learned that Kris wanted to have her own makeup line. Six months after, EB and Kris came up with the collection.

Denice shared that the collection will expand in the following months, with the potential launch of face powders and blushes. They are planning to add more colors to the matte lipstick line.

“Like everything Kris does, I believe the Kris Life Kit would be just as timeless,” said Denice, adding that Ever Bilena has been looking at tapping into the younger market by studying the latest beauty trends, and venturing into online selling portals such as Beauty MNL and Lazada.
