Intelligent Enterprise, is it time?

Time flies really fast. What’s new today might be obsolete tomorrow especially in this digital age.

Have you heard about intelligent enterprise? Intelligent Enterprise (IE) is the next evolution in management approach. It applies technology and new service paradigms to the challenge of improving business performance.

SAP Philippines’ Managing Director Edler Panlilio said the country is now in an era of IE as the digital transformation age is now a thing of the past with the continued flourishing of technological innovations.

He said at a media briefing on Friday, “In the business industry, digitalization or the integration of digital technologies is a must if enterprises don’t want to be left behind as consumers nowadays are also jumping into this technological evolution.”

There are three key components of IE, which are automation, proactively responding to customer needs and creating a new business model.

As a concept, IE refers to making our way of work easier by improving employees’ high-value tasks.

This can be achieved by empowering employees through process automation. This involves a complex process, such as invoice and payment matching, approvals, and more — to free up employee time and empower them to do more meaningful work.

By anticipating and proactively responding to customer needs, IE enables companies to create personalized and unique customer experiences using AI, chatbots and voice technologies.

In an IE environment, companies must anticipate the needs of their customers and deliver best-in-class service. This can be achieved by regularly inventing new business models and revenue streams.

“Create new business models that generate new revenue streams. Monetize data-driven capabilities and apply your core business competencies in innovative ways,” Panlilio added.

Among the benefits of this new management approach is it increases the visibility of the company and its ecosystem by eliminating data silos and automate data wrangling and integration. It also allows enterprises to recognize unseen patterns – and provide new intelligence to service customers and employees.

According to Panlilio, the concept also encourages firms to focus resources on the present and in the future by directing scarce resources to areas where they will have the greatest impact. “Simulate the outcome of potential options – run your business today and innovate for tomorrow,” he added.

More importantly, enterprises become more agile and become capable of disrupting and outmaneuvering new challenges.

He said, “Build flexibility and insight into your business processes to rapidly respond to change, pivot towards the right outcomes and guard against disruptive competitors.”
