UAE takes scholars under its wing

BEIRUT — The Humanitarian Affairs and Development Attaché of the United Arab Emirates Embassy in Lebanon, with support from the Sharjah Charity Association, has signed an agreement with Al Shabab Al Bakaie Association to guarantee the education of 100 outstanding Syrian students and orphans.

Hamad Saeed Sultan Al Shamsi, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Lebanon, and Dr. Abdullah Al Tessa, chairman of Al Shabab Al Beqa’i Society signed the agreement that covers the educational expenses of the 100 beneficiaries for the next academic year 2018/2019.

Al Tessa praised the Sharjah Charity Association’s initiative to guarantee the scholarship, which reflects the UAE’s interest in promoting education for the advancement of societies. WAM
