AFP lauds LGU

The Eastern Mindanao Command of the Armed Forces of the Philippines has commended the local government unit (LGU) of Lianga, Surigao del Sur for establishing an Incident Command Post (ICP) that manages the different interventions to the indigenous peoples (IP) brought to the Diatagon Gymnasium.

In relation to Republic Act 10121 or Disaster Management Act, the participation or presence of the soldiers in the ICP is to assist the concerned LGU, particularly, in security and manpower assistance.

The detachment established in Km. 9 which accordingly is being protested by the group, was requested by the community through a resolution by the Municipal and Barangay Peace and Order Council of Lianga and Diatagon. KMB
