10 Chinese fugitives deported soon

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) will deport 10 arrested Chinese fugitives following several operations in Metro Manila and Pampanga last week.

BI Commissioner Jaime Morente disclosed the Chinese are all wanted by the authorities in Beijing for economic crimes, including Internet fraud and smuggling.

Those arrested are now detained at the BI detention facility at Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City pending deportation proceedings.

Bobby Raquepo, head of the BI-Fugitive Search Unit (FSU), said their passports were already canceled by the Chinese government, thus they have become undocumented aliens subject to summary deportation.

According to Raquepo, seven were arrested last 18 July when they raided a condominium unit along Roxas Boulevard in Pasay City.

He identified them as Li Tian Feng, Duan Tingting, Li Miao, Zou Wang, Zhang Hailong, Wang Liao and Huang Zongyou.

Also, BI-FSU agents and airport anti-smuggling operatives collared on 17 July at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport a certain Wang Xiaobo, who is subject of an Interpol red notice for involvement in smuggling.

On 19 July, immigration personnel arrested a Chinese woman named Cai Miao Ling inside her unit at the Tuscany Private Residences in McKinley Hills, Taguig City.

They also bagged Ji Jingxiu last 22 July along the Friendship Highway in Angeles City, Pampanga.
