Policemen kill 4 in shootouts

Four alleged criminals involved in the drug trade and in robberies met their end in shootouts with the police Tuesday evening and at dawn yesterday in the cities of Makati and Pasay.

First to fall was one Alexander Millado, reportedly an ex-Marine, when he resisted the service of a warrant for his arrest, according to Makati police chief Senior Supt. Roger Simon.

Wanted for drug pushing, Millado allegedly pulled out a gun when policemen went to his house at 377 Manggga Street in Barangay Cembo at around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

He was brought to the Ospital ng Makati but was pronounced dead on arrival from several gunshot wounds by the attending physician.

Recovered by the police were a .38 caliber revolver, a sachet of suspected shabu and two 9mm cartridges.

A few minutes after the “shootout” with Millado, Makati policemen also engaged three suspected pushers in a gun battle, killing two while the third suspect, identified as Justine dela Paz, escaped.

The incident happened inside the Laperal Compound in Barangay Guadalupe Viejo.

The policemen recovered one M26 fragmentation grenade, a .22 magnum, ammunitions, a 9mm pistol and four pieces of sachets of marijuana.

In Pasay City, Senior Supt. Noel Flores, said his men shot dead a still unidentified gunman who was the subject of a robbery complaint by a woman. Retrieved from the slain suspect was a .38 revolver. Nelson Badilla
