Mamburao flood sinks houses

Floods in Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro have submerged houses leaving only the roofs visible.

Photos of submerged houses were posted on Twitter by Peewee Bacuno.

Some houses were reportedly washed away by raging floodwaters.

The high flood was caused by continuous rains from the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat.

Residents were forced to evacuate to storm shelters and classes in all levels of private and public schools in the town were suspended.
