Ex-vice mayor shot dead

Riding-in-tandem gunmen killed the former vice mayor of Sultan sa Barongis town in Maguindanao Friday night in Tacurong City.

Datu Roger Mamalo, 63, was driving home to New Isabela, Tacurong City when the riders fired at the windshield of his car at 8:20 p.m. killing him, according to Sultan Kudarat Provincial Police Director James Gumatico.

The motorcycle driver and the gunman immediately fled after the shooting.

Based on initial investigation, the gun used was identified as a .45 caliber pistol.

The motive for the killing is still being investigated.

Mamalo’s name is reportedly included in the police narco-list.
