Talisay guns for sweep

CEBU CITY— Talisay aims to sweep San Francisco for the crown when they clash in Game 2 of the best-of-three finals for the 2nd Cebu Governor’s Cup Inter-Cities/Municipalities basketball tournament on Wednesday.

Talisay drowned San Francisco, 89-68 in Game 1 last Monday at the Talisay City Sports Complex.

With their backs against the wall, San Francisco, the only team from a Cebu island-town to survive the grueling home-and-away format of Under 21 cagers, will still seek to force a deciding Game 3.

And it is not impossible for San Francisco as it did the trick against Consolacion to become the North Division champion via a 72-71 squeaker in Game 3 of their series last Friday at the Cebu Coliseum.

San Francisco could not easily be beaten at home as proved by its 84-68 win in the North finals over Consolacion, which retaliated with an 86-61 Game 2 triumph to force a rubber match.
