Sleepy cops face 59-day suspension

Being suspended for up to 59 days for sleeping on the job is something to lose sleep about.

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) director Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar yesterday warned his men that he would not take lightly their dozing off on duty.

Eleazar said that while sleeping on duty is considered a “less grave neglect of duty,” it is penalized with suspension from 31 to 59 days.

The reminder came from the NCRPO chief after a Marulas, Valenzuela policeman was caught sleeping during a surprise inspection he conducted Monday.

Garcia is now facing pre-charge investigation.
