TESDA widens program

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) plans to expand its partnership with other government agencies and private companies to widen its training program.

TESDA has an existing partnership with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) where it helps TESDA in training students.

DPWH also helps the TESDA graduates to get jobs with contractors of DPWH in the implementation of projects under the Build, Build, Build (BBB) program of the Duterte administration.

Some of TESDA’s regional offices also have partnership agreements with private firms like Aboitiz Construction, Golden Bay Philippines Corp., and Jorviv’s Construction.

TESDA said it prioritizes infrastructure-related technical and vocational education and training (TVET) since the BBB program requires about 200,000 construction workers.

The implementation of the BBB program by DPWH and other government agencies would be a big help to TESDA.
