Dave guns for early KO

TAGBILARAN CITY – It’s going to be an all-out war as Dave Penalosa clashes with Ricky Manufoe of Indonesia in a 10-round non-title fight in the featherweight division Saturday at the Bohol Wisdom Gym here.

After tipping the scales at 132 pounds, the 27-year old Dave is heavily favored against the Indonesian fighter, who is coming in lighter at 128 pounds.

The other fighting Penalosa, Carlo, will also see action against another Indonesian in Iwan Key in an eighth-round non-title flyweight bout.

Carlo measured 120 pounds, which is two pounds heavier than Key in their 130-pound weight class.

In the press launch Thursday, Dave said he couldn’t assure a knockout, but he will do his best to send his foe to the canvass in just three rounds while treating the Boholanos to a dazzling display of boxing brilliance.

“I cannot guarantee a knockout, but I will definitely go for it,” said Carlo, who will be competing in the main event of this card being promoted by former champion Gerry Penalosa.

Tickets are still available at the Tagbilaran City Hall and Bohol Tropics Hotel and are pegged at P150, P300, P50 and P1,000.
