Huge boulder hits SUV on Kennon Road; 3 hurt

(Photo courtesy of Manuel Manansala) Three people, among them two children, were injured as a huge boulder the size of a mini-bus fell on their SUV crushing the back side of the vehicle while they were traversing Kennon Road in Baguio City yesterday morning.

The boulder has a height of 10 feet and was among the other rocks that fell around 11 a.m., the Department of Public Works and Highways-Cordillera said.

Ginaly Cadap and her children sustained minor injuries and were immediately taken to the Baguio General Hospital for treatment.

Cadap’s husband, PO2 Jefferson Cadap, who was driving the Toyota Fortuner, was unscathed.

As of press time, the boulder has yet to be taken off the road.

The road was closed to traffic last Friday and was opened Saturday morning.

Motorists going up and down Baguio City are advised to take Naguilian or the Marcos Highway.
