DU30 gets A on drugs war

For Senate President Vicente Sotto III, President Duterte’s weakest point in his two-year incumbency is not having a good relationship with the media.

On the other hand, Sotto said that the Duterte administration’s strong point was its fight against criminality.

“I will give him an A for effort and sincerity in fighting illegal drugs and criminality,” said Sotto.

“His weakest point is not being in good terms with the media,” he added.

Mr. Duterte has been very vocal against some major media entities in the country, including broadcast giant ABS-CBN and broadsheet Philippine Daily Inquirer.

The President also criticized online news company Rappler for receiving funds from foreigners which is illegal under the Constitution.

For his part, Sen. JV Ejercito rated high the Duterte administration’s war against criminality, particularly against illegal drugs.
