CebuPac implements new TSA rules

Cebu Pacific Airline announced yesterday that Guam-bound passengers will not be allowed to carry powdery substances weighing more than 12 ounces inside their hand-carried baggage as part of the management’s additional security measures.

Carrying more than the allowable powdery substance will result in additional screening and security check.

“Our security personnel will impose strict measures and may confiscate or dispose of powder-like substances in excess of the permitted quantity found inside the baggage,” Cebu Pacific said.

Powder-like substances may include flour, sugar, ground coffee, spices, powder milk (including infant formula), cosmetics and human remains (ashes).

Exemption to this rule may include baby formula, medically-prescribed substances, human remains (ashes) and duty-free purchases of powder-like substances (in Security Tamper Evident Bags) provided that the containers are sealed and cleared by security screener.

Cebu Pacific strongly advises all passengers to place powder-like substance to their check-in baggage to avoid any inconvenience during check-in.
