Davao flood remembered

Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte led Thursday her constituents in remembering the June 28, 2011 flash flood that took the lives of 31 Dabawenyos in five barangays in the Talomo District.

During the event, the mayor reminded her constituents to always listen to calamity warnings issued by authorities to minimize if not have zero casualty during similar incidents.

“When rescue teams advise them to evacuate, they should do what they are told and not to question the advice of rescue teams,” Mayor Inday said.

The mayor said that since the calamitous event the barangay rescue units in the city have gotten stronger as first responders.
