3 rookie Manila cops nabbed for ‘extort’ try

Three Manila police who introduced themselves as PDEA agents on Wednesday night during an entrapment operation by the joint operatives of Manila Police District and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

MPD Director Chief Supt. Rolando Anduyan said the suspects were apprehended for allegedly extorting money from female drug suspects in exchange of their freedom.

The entrapment was done right at the MPD Station 5 in Ermita, Manila.

District Special Operations Unit (DSOU), District Police Intelligence Operation Unit (DPIOU) of the MPD and PDEA-National Capital Region (NCR) conducted the entrapment.

The suspects were identified as PO1 Radam Reyes Manglicmot, PO1 Edmar dalusong Cayanan and PO1 Jeff Macapagal Calaguas, all assigned at the Anti-Crime Division Unit of the MPD station-5.

The police said the suspects did not resist arrest.

The entrapment operation was executed past 10:00 p.m. at the second floor of the MPD station 5 (former Luneta Police Community Precinct), Anduyan said.

Anduyan said it was Mohammad Shahjahan Maid Maider, husband of one of the female suspects apprehended by the three Manila cops, who revealed to PDEA the fake PEDEA agents’ demand for money in exchange for the release of the arrested female drugs suspects.
