USP-F to extend winning run

CEBU CITY — University of Southern Philippines-Foundation (USP-F) guns for its third straight win against struggling University of San Carlos (USC) in the CESAFI Partners’ Cup pre-season tournament Tuesday at the Cebu Coliseum.

Action kicks off at 6:45 pm with the Panthers looking to stretch their streak to formally register their best start since joining this premier collegiate league as one of the pioneer schools.

Meanwhile, University of Cebu (UC) and Cebu Institute of Technology (CIT) collide at 5:15 pm in the high school division.

The Panthers are bracing for the return of their import, Rich Managor, who missed all but one game last season after crashing with an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury.

Veteran Roy Quiatchon is a big contributor in the Panthers’ offense along with ace point guard Mhike Patalinghug and top gunner RR Cauba.

The Warriors, who are on the verge of elimination following a 63-77 loss to University of Cebu, are tipped to go all out despite playing without any reinforcement.
