3 kids locked up in Malabon comfort room

A criminology student and his friend found themselves in deep trouble after they allegedly locked up three kids inside a comfort room on Thursday in Malabon City.

Responding to the complaint lodged by the children’s parents, city police chief Senior Supt. Harry Espela ordered the arrest of Reynaldo Cruz, 27, criminology student, and Ernesto Tamundono, 21, both residents of Barangay Tanong.

At the police headquarters, the duo refused to comment on what had transpired.

Based on the initial investigation conducted by PO2 Mary June Belza of the local police’s Women and Children’s Protection Desk (WCPD), it was past 5 p.m. when the suspects allegedly locked up the victims, aged five, six and eight, inside a dark comfort room of a basketball court in the same village.

The suspects were reportedly watching a basketball game when they got irked when the three kids continued to make noise while teasing and playing with one another.
