Brainy Myrtle set to fly in ‘Wonder Bra’

At the end of the day, they are still fans. This is what actress/cosplayer/singer/VJ host Myrtle Sarrosa says about the rare “fan” who tends to stalk her or imagine themselves to be closer than they really are.

Myrtle, who recently faced media at her contract renewal as brand ambassadress of Sisters sanitary napkins and pantyliners under Megasoft Hygienic Products, Inc., is obviously as cool as the school campaign the brand has undertaken for some time now.

“I‘m very thankful to Megasoft and I can’t wait to go back to the ‘School is cool’ tour,” the former Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition member shares.

Now on her third year of endorsing Sisters, Myrtle has already visited about 30 high schools for the “School is cool” advocacy of its mother company, which has given recognition to outstanding students and teachers of more than 50 high schools nationwide.

Having gone “sexy” in her image, posing for FHM and men’s calendars, Myrtle is surprisingly wholesome in her approach to life. “No one has a perfect body. For me, just embrace who you are,” she says about those who body-shame others.

She also prefers to ignore those who post lewd or vulgar comments to her photos on social media. “I haven’t gotten any indecent proposals though,” she laughs.

Myrtle soars to the silver screen as a superhero in the upcoming fantasy-comedy film, Wonder Bra under Blue Rock Productions with Zeus Collins and Cacai Bautista. In it, she plays the role of Barbara, whose superpowers come out whenever she wears her magic bra. “It’s like cosplaying – you wear a costume and play a role,” she says.

She is also set to sign a movie contract with Regal Films.

On television, she will be starring in the series Bachelorette on Cignal TV with Edgar Allan Guzman and will be reporting sports highlights in “first five” for TFC’s sports and action.

Various guest appearances in ABS-CBN shows are also lined up.

Myrtle is excited to go back to the school tours, and talk about feminine hygiene and feminism.

Last June 13, Myrtle was in the “2018 Megasoft School is Cool Tour” in Quezon’s Atimonan National Comprehensive High School and at the Gumaca National High School.

She will be in Sto. Tomas, La Union for the 2nd Sanglad Festival on July 19 and Waltermart Tarlac on July 21.

This year’s tour will now include state universities and colleges, announced Megasoft vice president for Sales and Marketing Aileen Choi-Go. “This is a new one for us. We have been receiving invitations from state universities and colleges for our ‘School is cool’ advocacy.

They also would want their students to experience our fun-filled educational event. So, this year, we will not only be entertaining high schoolers, but also the college students.”

Myrtle, who graduated cum laude from the University of the Philippines, knows how difficult but exciting it is for a student to transition from high school to college. “New environment, new experiences, new adjustments. Being away from high school friends, but finding new college barkadas, new sisters,” she names some of the reasons.

“There will be more independence, more choices, but more responsibilities,” affirms Aileen.

Through the years, shared advocacy has not only made Myrtle and Aileen bond with the students, but their relationship has grown closer as well. “Big Sis is a great influence in my life. She has given me advice, from the must-watch online series, to travel tips, to business ventures. She even let me join her in business conferences,” Myrtle reveals.

Myrtle believes in investing in oneself to improve as a person. She is thankful that Choi-Go has been helping her in this area of her life. With the latter’s help, she has been able to put up business ventures.

“I’ve been giving Little Sis my support — when she was still a student balancing school and showbiz, when she graduated cum laude, and now that she has expressed interest in business. I’ve seen her hard work and I’m happy it’s paying off,” adds Aileen.
