Binay lauds UMak for 100% passing rate in Nursing exams

Makati Mayor Abby Binay has commended the city-run University of Makati (UMak) for obtaining a 100 percent passing rate for its first-takers in the Nurse Licensure Examination.

All of the university’s 18 first-time examinees hurdled the licensure examination conducted last June 3 and 4.

“I would like to commend UMak for obtaining a 100 percent passing rate for its first-time examinees in the recent nursing board exam. Thank you for providing Makatizens with excellent education,” Mayor Abby said.

The mayor also said that the overall passing rate of 75 percent obtained by UMak in the said examination was remarkable, considering that the national passing rate was 43.82 percent, with 4,326 passers out of 9,873 examinees.

“To our successful examinees, my warmest congratulations to all of you! You are the pride of your Alma Mater and of Makati. May you inspire young Makatizens to excel in their studies and serve the people with utmost dedication through your profession,” the mayor said.

According to UMak Center of Nursing (CON) director Anthony John Domingo, the university’s successful examinees are Claire Safran Aguas, Joshua Arman Albes, Erica Mae Anos, Remilyn Rose Asuncion, Ruth Balaoy, Loren Joyce Cruz, Ana Cris De Jesus, Charlene Gonzales, Angela Mae Llagas, Shirlyn Mae Llagas, and Royce Lorenzo.

Completing the list are Riza Lumbre, Ma. Rovi Michelle Montemayor, Kristine Beatriz Nasis, Samantha Susan Nulud, Amanda Paula Palma, Sean Kamiel Sia, Anzel Rose Taquiqui, Sheana Camille Templo, Debbie Terrado, and Maria Ciarra Trovela.

The last board exam was chaired by Carmelita Divina Gracia and administered in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga.

Last April, UMak produced 23 graduates from its Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.
