Six erring Pasig cops in hot water this time

Six Pasig City policemen are in hot water after they were caught sleeping and abandoning their posts while on duty at dawn yesterday.

According to reports, Pasig City police chief Senior Supt. Orlando Yebra conducted inspections of different police community precincts in his area of jurisdiction at dawn yesterday.

Around 3:20 a.m., Yebra and his men arrived at the Pasig City Police Station Investigation Section and Traffic Section.

There they found four policemen–SPO1 Ricardo Allapitan; SPO1 Rustom Valdez; PO3 Higino Dancel, and PO2 Apolo Labrador– sleeping on their jobs. Two other cops identified as PO2 Danilo Damasco and PO2 Patrick Baldemor were caught abandoning their posts.

Yebra said administrative charges will be filed against the erring policemen to teach them a lesson.

The spot inspection of police stations is being conducted to remind police officers on duty they should not be remiss in their duties as the new PNP leadership is pushing hard its anti-criminality campaign anchored on anti-illegal drugs eradication.

Even newly installed district director of Eastern Police District, Chief Supt. Alfred Corpus, along with Senior Supt. Cresencio Landicho, commander of the District Mobile Force Battalion, conducted surprise inspections at the five Police Community Precincts of San Juan, including the Headquarters of San Juan CPS at about 11 p.m of June 18, 2018.

During his inspection, Corpus reiterated to the personnel of San Juan City Police his marching order of observing cleanliness through “Tamang Bihis.”

In the anti-drug operations conducted the whole night, the Eastern Police District operatives recovered 22 sachets of shabu and cash amounting to P20,500 and one .38 caliber revolver with 12 live bullets and arrested 15 suspected drug pushers.

The intensified anti-drug operation was one of the marching orders of Corpus to his policemen in the for cities of Marikina, Pasig, Mandaluyong and San Juan.
