Estrada confers loyalty award on 283 city hall employees

Manila Mayor Joseph “Erap” Estrada conferred the Loyalty Award on 283 city hall employees.

Three other employees received the Special Mayor’s Award plus P10,000 in cash while 10 others were named Most Outstanding Employees,

The event was part of the celebration of the 447th Araw ng Maynila held city hall’s Bulwagang Villegas on June 18.

Certificates of loyalty award were also given to commend the 270 employees’ effort and dedication to public service who have been working in the city government for more than 30 years.

The conferment of awards was Estrada’s humble way of showing his gratitude to and appreciation of their long service to the city government.

During the simple awarding ceremony, the Manila chief executive expressed his utmost appreciation to all the awardees for being committed and dedicated in serving the public over the years.

The three employees who were awarded the Special Mayor’s Award with P10,000 in cash are engineer Lorenzo B. Alconera, OIC-Department of Engineering & Public Works; Dra. Merle Sacdalan-Faustino, OIC-Hospital Director of Justice Jose Abad Santos General Hospital (JJASGH), and Atty. Fortune O. Mayuga, director of Bureau of Permits.

“As model employees, you are now in a position to inspire others. We need people like you to show your co-employees how much can be accomplished with hard work, commitment, integrity, dedication, and the right attitude,” Estrada told the city hall employees.

The former President now Manila mayor also urged all employees to remain united so that they can succeed in their goals and help bring a better future to all Manilenos.

“You have all been part of Manila’s journey to progress and stability. Remember, all your contributions and works are part of your duty to improve Manila,” Estrada said.

In expressing his gratitude to the employees, Erap imparted his favorite saying: “In everything we say and do, let us ensure that we are delivering the greatest good, for the greatest number.”
