Weakened “Betty” continues to move over Philippine Sea — PAGASA

Super Typhoon “Betty” weakened into a typhoon as it continues to move over the Philippine Sea, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) stated in its latest tropical cyclone bulletin issued at 11:00 p.m. on 27 May 2023.
It is anticipated to track west-northwestward or northwestward in the 72-hour period while gradually decelerating, the weather bureau added.
“Betty” will remain as a typhoon throughout the forecast period, PAGASA said.
Meanwhile, Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 was raised in the provinces of Batanes, Ilocos Norte, Apayao, Cagayan, Abra, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Isabela, Ifugao, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, and Aurora.
PAGASA cautioned the public to expect potential strong winds in any of the said areas which may begin on late Sunday or on Monday.
