Fortinet says SASE mitigating threats

New research reveals that hybrid work is increasing security risks, but organizations are turning to SASE, or Secure Access Service Edge, to mitigate these threats.

Cybersecurity provider Fortinet has unveiled the findings of a new survey on SASE conducted in nine Asia-Pacific region countries.

The survey found that hybrid work is increasing security risks for organizations in the Asia-Pacific region.

For example, the survey discovered that 88 percent of respondents in the Philippines have adopted a hybrid or fully remote working model.

Still in the Philippines, 48 percent said they expect a 100 percent increase in managed devices over the next two years.

About 94 percent of the respondents added they have experienced a two-fold increase in security incidents since adopting hybrid work.

The survey also found that organizations in the Asia-Pacific region are turning to SASE to mitigate security risks.

SASE is a new security architecture that combines networking and security services into a single, cloud-based platform.
