Central Visayas prepares 45K food packs

The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Region 7 revealed on Friday that it has set aside at least 45,003 family food packs in Central Visayas ahead of the possible entry of super typhoon Mawar in the country.

DSWD-7 regional director Shalaine Marie Lucero said they already prepositioned the food packs in strategic locations in Central Visayas.

The food packs — worth P26,627,368 — are included to the prepared non-food items valued at P54,040,440.24 and standby funds of P2,215,658.24.

Lucero added that her office also have available raw materials that can produce 5,091 family food packs worth P9.7 million.

 

“The DSWD-7 has already prepositioned food packs in strategic locations across all regions as part of its regular disaster response efforts,” Lucero said.
