Deputized forest rangers sought

PALO, Leyte — The Philippine National Police will deputize 286 personnel to boost and fully enforce the campaign against illegal logging in Eastern Visayas amid shortage of forest rangers that guards the forest resources against loggers, poachers and encroachers.

The 286 selected PNP personnel, who will serve as Deputized Environment and Natural Resources Officers, underwent a two-day deputation seminar that trained and familiarize them with the environmental laws.
