Police reported that a 30-year-old snatcher was arrested on Saturday night after his victim chased him and managed to subdue him with the help of bystanders at the corner Taft Avenue and Malvar Street in Malate, Manila.

The suspect — identified as Rodel Rodriguez — was caught by the victim identified as Crismina de la Cruz, whow was riding a jeepney with her friend when Rodriguez snatched their mobile phones.

De la Cruz and her friend chased after Rodriguez and were able to corner him. They shouted for help and some bystanders came to their aid. The bystanders helped to detain Rodriguez until a police car arrived.

The police recovered a Samsung Galaxy 11 mobile phone from Rodriguez. He was arrested and charged with robbery under Article 293 of the Revised Penal Code.
