More wind projects in pipeline
The President said he is very happy to be considered among the pioneers of wind power while expressing hope that investors also consider solar power and other renewable sources of electricity.

Ayala Corporation’s energy arm ACEN will continue to look for new sources of energy, according to its head Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala.
“Yes, I think very much so. I think there might be some off-shore projects in the future as well, but now we need the transmission capacity as well and I think the President was emphasizing that. If the transmission capacity is there then I think we can keep adding,” Ayala said when asked if ACEN could add more windmill projects in Ilocos Norte.
President Ferdinand “Bong-Bong” Marcos, Jr. also proudly related his efforts to pursue wind power as a source of electricity during the presentation of the 160-megawatt or MW farm of ACEN at Barangay Caparispisan, Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte on 19 May.
Marcos was with industrialist Ayala, chairperson of Ayala Corporation, Secretary Raphael P.M Lotilla, Department of Energy, and first district representative Sandro Marcos, during the event.
Shift to renewables important
“It is important to highlight the importance of our shift from fossil fuels to renewables that we are trying to implement to improve our energy mix.” President Marcos said.

He added that renewable energy is the way forward that the country will pursue.
