“Love at First Read,” the first-ever Mavy Legaspi and Kyline Alcantara primetime series, is set to debut in June. The series is the much-awaited TV version of the wildly popular Wattpad book of the same name by Chixnita, which has racked up some 23.3 million readers.

After appearing on several GMA shows, Mavy and Kyline (“MavLine” to their fans) now get the opportunity to topbill their own project, and the pair promises to show their fans something different.

“For the longest time ang nakikita nila is ‘yung friendship namin ni Kyline, ‘yung mga sweet moments, kilig moments, pero in here makikita niyo talaga ‘yung drama side namin as a loveteam (they have been seeing our friendship and sweet moments, but here you will see a dramatic side to our loveteam),” Legaspi said.

“Kyline is a seasoned actress, nag-primetime na siya dati, heavy drama, and we know her as a solo actress pero ‘yung drama between MavLine, that’s something you should look forward to kasi kakaiba. Of course, nandoon pa rin ‘yung kilig moments, and how we play our characters ‘yun ang dapat abangan ng fans (Kyline has done primetime, heavy drama, but our MavLine drama is something different. The kilig moments are stil there, but fans can look forward to how we play our characters),” he added.

Alcantara, for her part, said
“dito na-challenge ako kung paano magiging light ‘yung atake kasi drama pero not that heavy drama (here I was challenged to make things a bit light since it’s not heavy drama).”

The pair said they were careful not to upset the millions of readers of Chixnita’s Filipino novel, as well as their fans.

Other Sparkle stars such as Therese Malvar, Marco Masa, Pam Prinster and Mariel Pamintuan, as well as Josh Ford, Bruce Roeland and Larkin Castor from the Kapuso network and the Gueco Twins from TikTok, join MavLine in this series.

Kudos, a secret romantic looking for the ideal girl, is the main character of the novel. He discovers a journal and decides that Abby, the author, is the one he should date. He also meets Angelica, who is uninterested in romantic relationships and distrusts men. At first they clash, but with time they grow to like one another.

Kudos is now torn between Angelica and Abby, unaware that they are simply the same person. Will they resolve everything and find love?
