Cainta partners with mental health provider

The local government of Cainta, Rizal has partnered with a psychiatric facility to treat residents with mental disorders.

“We tied up with a psychiatric facility to bring there their family members who are having difficulty… with mental disorders,” municipal administrator Keith Nieto said.

One patient was already brought to St. John Custodial and Psychiatric Therapeutic Home, Cainta’s partnering mental health care provider.

Nieto said that while mental health intervention can be costly, the families of patients do not have to raise money.

“But as I said, if you help other people, help them completely. The family will have nothing to worry about. The government will cover all expenses until their relative recovers,” Nieto said.

“When there is nowhere to run, the government is your last resort. You will not be abandoned,” he added.
