Arrested robber yields guns

The victim, a taxi driver, was flagged down by the suspects who posed as passengers.

Quezon City policemen arrested a suspect in a robbery hold-up incident Thursday night. The suspect, identified as Jessniel John Bulos, 32, was nabbed in Barangay Bagong Pag-asa. His alleged cohort, identified as “Jar-Ar” alias “Toto,” remains at large.

The robbery occurred at around 7:45 p.m. in front of a condo unit near EDSA. The victim, a taxi driver, was flagged down by the suspects who posed as passengers.

At gunpoint, they declared a hold-up and forcibly took his day’s earnings of P1,500. The suspects alighted from the taxi and sped off towards an alley in Barangay Bagong Pag-asa.

Operatives of the Quezon City Project 6 police station were conducting covert patrol along EDSA northbound when they chanced upon the victim on board his taxi shouting for help.

The operatives immediately responded and a brief chase ensued. With the help of security guard Jalanie Mauday, the operatives cornered Bulos and arrested him. His cohort, alias “Toto,” fled on foot and made good his escape.

Recovered from Bulos were a black sling bag, a cal. 38 pen gun and a pellet gun. A manhunt operation is being conducted against alias “Toto.”

Bulos was charged with robbery hold-up and violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
