The project to construct the covered court at the Bibiano Mercado Integrated School has been temporarily suspended while the city is working out to identify their findings.

Meantime, Danao City Mayor Mix Durano welcomed the arrival of experts from the University of San Carlos including Archeologist Dr. John Peterson, History professor Laila Labajo and History teacher Devra Ouano as they will conduct a research to identify the artifacts this week.

They will also perform excavation activities to find out the remaining artifacts. The group is expected to recommend on how to preserve the vintage items.

“The city government and the local community are eagerly awaiting the results of the experts’ investigation, hoping to uncover a significant piece of our city’s history,” said the local government.

The Old Cebu Railway started its operation in Metro Cebu in 1911 until 1942 with routes to Argao town in the south of Cebu to Danao City.
