Senator Imee Marcos disclosed on Thursday that her mother, former first lady Imelda Romualdez-Marcos, had a “successful angioplasty”.

“My mother, Mrs. Imelda R. Marcos, underwent a successful angioplasty last May 7 at St. Luke’s Medical Center Global City,” the lady senator said.

Senator Marcos added that her 93-year-old mother is “recovering well and will be sent home this week.”

Angioplasty is a medical procedure to open blocked or clogged blood vessels, called coronary arteries, that supply blood to the heart.
