More than 1,300 hired on the spot in SM Malls Job Fair

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. graces the biggest Department of Labor and Employment Job Fair at SMX. Cabinet secretaries and government officials join DOLE Sec Bienvenido Laguesma and SM executives Tessie Sy-Coson and Steven Tan at the biggest DOLE Job Fair at SMX on 30 April.

The SM Supermalls recently staged the biggest job fair at the SMX Convention Center in Manila in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment. It ran from 30 April to 1 May in 20 malls. 

With 873 companies participating, 14,956 job seekers registered, and 1,367 individuals hired on the spot, the events provided an excellent opportunity for job seekers to connect with potential employers.

The job fairs are SM Supermalls’ support to the government to provide employment opportunities for job seekers as well as to reduce unemployment in the country.

As the official venue of DOLE for job fairs nationwide, the 20 SM malls that participated are SM Grand Central, SM Southmall, SM BF Paranaque, SM Sucat, SM Baguio, SM Marilao,  SM Pampanga, SM Olongapo Central, SM Tuguegarao, SM Cabanatuan, SM CDO Downtown Premier, SM Davao, and SM San Jose del Monte.

LGUs and PESO also held Job Fairs on 1 May at SM Marikina, SM Lipa , SM Roxas City, SM Puerto Princesa, and SM City Novaliches.

For those who missed the 1 May event, there are upcoming job fairs still open to job seekers, including fresh graduates, returning overseas Filipino workers, and those who have been displaced from their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

It will be held at SM City Bacolod on 5-6 May, and SM Cherry Antipolo on 12 May. A bigger DOLE Job Fair is expected on 12 June in more SM Malls nationwide.
