BAGUIO CITY – A son of a taxi driver in Baguio City beat the tall odds when he became the country’s first visually impaired bar examination passer.

Anthony Mark Emocling of the University of Baguio Law School was among the 3,992 passers of last year’s bar whose results came out Friday.

He placed 1,407th but is largely believed to be a trailblazer after making it as a lawyer despite his being differently abled.

Emocling graduated cum laude in political science also at UB.
