The Philippine women’s national softball team absorbed a 2-6 loss to China at the Women’s Softball Asia Cup at the Songdo LNG Baseball Stadium in Incheon, South Korea Tuesday.
The Chinese unloaded four runs at the bottom of the second inning courtesy of Xie Jiaxin, Yan Siyu, Chen Yao and Xie Yue
At the top of the fourth inning, a run-batted-in double from Cristy Roa allowed Arianne Vallestero to take a run for the Blu Girls, 1-4.
Danica Aquino scored the Philippines’ second run at the top of the sixth inning, 2-4, to try and pull off an upset.
Xu Jia’s 2 RBI allowed He Xiaoyan and Dong Zixuan to score two more runs at the bottom of the sixth inning, increasing the Chinese’s lead to 6-2.
China took the win after the Philippines could not get a run at the top of the seventh inning.
The Blu Girls face India at 10 a.m. (Manila time).
