The Bankers Association of the Philippines (BAP) on Wednesday appointed Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) chief executive Jose Teodoro “TG” Limcaoco as its next president.

Limcaoco replaced East West Banking Corporation vice chair Antonio Moncupa Jr.

In a Facebook post, BPI chairman Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala congratulated Limcaoco, who will serve as BAP president for the term 2023-2024.

“TG follows in the footsteps of Cezar ‘Bong’ Consing and Aurelio ‘Gigi’ Montinola—former BPI CEOs who also served as Presidents of BAP,” Zobel de Ayala wrote in the caption.

The BAP is the lead organization of universal and commercial banks in the Philippines which advocates for pro-growth policies that support the country’s banking industry.
